African American Day Parade

The African-American Parade is a huge, colourful and noisy affair. Crowds pack the wide boulevards of Historic Harlem, home to one of New York’s largest African-American community.  Founded in 1969  the parade route moves along Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard( fromerly 7th Avenue) starting at 111th street, pumping out a variey of music, floats, and street performers. With dazzling costumes, funky grooves and great dancers, proceeding to 136th Street. it is an amazing street party, and one not to be missed.  so come join harlemnites and others on September 16th at 1pm for the largest African American day parade celebration.
